The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
A Solvable Conflict?
How the Conflict Divides
By taking opposite sides in the conflict, powerful countries are opposing the views and wishes of each other. Relations between these countries are strained and situations between them can become more tense. Almost every non Muslim-majority country recognizes Israel as a legitimate nation. On the other hand, almost every Muslim-majority country does not recognize Israel in the conflict, while they support Palestine. The United States, Canada, and much of Western Europe does not recognize Palestine as a state. In opposition to this, Eastern Europe, Russia, and much of the rest of the world recognizes Palestine as a state. These opposing viewpoints can strain relations between extremely strong nations like Russia and America. Finding a solution to the conflict would help to create world peace in many ways.
