The Stakes

This issue seems to have to good solution. So it is a valid question; why are we putting so much time and effort into solving this problem? Why should we, as Americans, try to force the two sides to find a solution when it appears that they aren't trying that hard themselves? There are many good reasons why we should fight for the people of Israel and the people of Palestine.

For starters, there is still much conflict in the area. Not only are the Palestinian people oppressed and sometimes taken advantage of, but there is bloody conflict between the two sides. The Israelis and the Palestinians have fought wars over the territory in the region, and this has led to needless death. In addition to this, many Palestinians take out their anger on innocent Israeli citizens. There have been terrorist attacks carried out in the name of Palestine against Israeli people. All people in the region have suffered from their differing viewpoint. On top of all this, life is more difficult when you can't live in peace with your neighbors. It would be as if the United States and Canada hated each other with all their hearts; life would be tense and stressful. It is important to fight for the quality of life of all people in the region, whether we agree with them or not.
